The IT Product & Application Manager is accountable for the IT Product or Application Lifecycle ensuring that products/applications are brought to life, enhanced and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the ‘paying customer’ and other stakeholders. Management responsibilities can include line management of staff as well as greater breadth of responsibility across products or applications.Areas of Specialty:IT Product ManagerDepending on the point in the lifecycle, the focus may range from increasing performance of an existing product to driving a brand new opportunity. An ability to complete targeted segment needs analysis, gather and define market/product requirements, and collaborate with UI, design and technology teams are critical.While the IT Product Manager needs a strong understanding of new technology and an ability to see potential applications for problem solving, these skills must be coupled with a strong business focus. IT Product Managers must act as the “CEO” of the product, concerned deeply about the solution it provides while also being responsible for justifying its existence and operating it with fiscal responsibility. In practice, this requires an ability to work with other areas of DB including but not limited to: Finance, Sales, Marketing and Executive Management.Application Manager-Acting line manager and is accountable for the Application Lifecycle Management across multiple applications/services of an IT unit and the related RTB / TCA costs. Ensures that the application(s) are enhanced and maintained in accordance to the requirements of the ‘paying customer’ and other stakeholders as included in the application strategy and SLA’s. With this, clarifies the scope and timing of all activities and deliverables and the value they will generate.Identifies and manages the risks and issues associated with the application(s) and escalates appropriately.In CTB projects, is empowered to ensure that the changes to the application(s) are fully aligned / support the application strategy. Main focus is to guarantee the system stability and to ensure a smooth / successful transition to production/ steady-state environment. Cost accountability contains the management and tracking of costs in line with investment governance and maintains the agreed outcomes and service-levels within budget. As line manager, plans resources against activities and use opportunities for self-development and development of other members of the team.General Tasks / Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the lifecycle management of a product/application from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Conduct strategic planning for the product/application.
- Manage product scope.
- Identify and manage technical projects necessary to ensure the required service levels are maintained.
- Manage strategic capacity, consumption and performance management (Forecast and management based on business plans).
- Ensure the Policy-Compliance for dbRAMM, SOX, ASG, ISP, Audit, etc. (including technical ITPM tasks).
- Manage Software Licenses, Security Certificates and contracts with service providers.
- Ensure the availability of all necessary product/application documentation.
- Accountable for the RTB/TCA costs.
- Ensure in CTB projects that the changes to the product/application are fully aligned / support the product/application strategy across the full SDLC including support on:
- participates in cost estimates
- functional design
- solution architecture together with the solution architect
- technical design
- Ensure a smooth / successful transition to production / steady-state environment.
- May be responsible for the delivery of small enhancements
- Provides L3 product/application support as required
IT Product Manager-
- Generate PMLC artefacts such as MRDs, PRDs, etc.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going engagement with customers and non-customers.
- Establish strong business cases for creation of any new product or product enhancement along with market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
- Design the roadmap from creation to sunset for a given product.
- Drive strategic planning for the product including the product vision, strategy, and KPIs.
- Review usability test results, track online usability bugs, and define areas for constant enhancement and optimization within the user experience.
- Monitor and analyze competitive landscape.

The team will have the unique opportunity to build systems which rationalize and simplify large volumes of financial data, to provide a means for our customers to better enter, visualize and act upon these transactions.Besides managing the application suite this individual will manage the common core UI components used in constructing these applications such that our user interfaces have a common experience.
